Machine Knit Illustration Board

The boards above were created in fall 2008 for my machine knitting collection. I was inspired by the potential for texture in knitwear, and wanted to experiment with pushing color, texture and pattern to the extreme. The illustrations were done in watercolor, pastel, pen and glitter. The flats were completed in Illustrator. (Photos of the final piece can be found in this blog as well!)
This illustration was also complete in fall 2008. It was for a knitwear collection, in which I was inspired by nudibranchs, and their great variation in texture. I interpreted this into the contrast between billowing and restricted shapes around the body, and highly textural vests and shrugs. This board is done using watercolor, marker, and pen.
